Chicken Parmesan Burgers


Chicken burgers have a mean, mean rep for being bland. I get it, I mean ground chicken is just…bleh. But this burger combines the BEST parts of chicken parmesan: the savory biting parmesan, the warm coating sauce, and the stringy cheese. I promise you won’t miss the beef! I make these ALL the time and they are quite a good addition to the normal meal rotation!

Recipe: Makes 4 lovely patties
1 lb ground chicken
1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan
1/8 cup shredded low fat mozzarella
1/4 cup marinara sauce
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/3 cup onion
1 tsp garlic seasoning
2 cloves garlic
1 tbsp italian seasoning
1/2 tsp dried basil
1.5 tsp kosher salt
Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns or Thins
Reduced Fat Swiss Cheese Slices

Combine all the ingredients from ground chicken to basil. (Use a fork to prevent meat from mushing)
Form into patties (lightly toss into balls then flatten, don’t mush meat!)
Cook by preferred method (stovetop, grill, broiler, firepit (just kidding))
